If you join the launch list

What we collect

Why

To email you when the magnesium shelf launches, to tell you about test results, to ask for your vote on what we test, to send you a fortnightly build note, to tell you about the test fund, and to count the votes on what we test first. We only ever report votes as totals.

Our legal basis

Your consent. You give it by ticking the box and then confirming by email. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.

Who handles it for us

Brevo, a French company, stores your details and sends our emails, on servers in the EU. Brevo only acts on our instructions.

We've set Brevo not to track who opens our emails or clicks the links in them. Brevo may still count totals that aren't linked to you, to keep emails being delivered.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If you don't confirm, you aren't added to the list and we won't email you again. After you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a "do not email" list, so we never email you again by mistake.

We never sell your details, and we never share them with brands or advertisers.

When you visit this site

Visit counts

We count visits with Plausible Analytics. It doesn't use cookies or store your IP address, and its data stays in the EU. We see totals, such as how many people visited and which buttons were pressed. We never see who you are.

Cookies

This site doesn't set any cookies, and nor does Plausible.

Hosting

Cloudflare hosts this site. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and keep the site secure. Cloudflare is a US company and may handle this data outside the UK, under its data protection terms. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website.

If you email us

Zoho, our email provider, holds your message. We use it only to reply, and we delete it when it's no longer needed. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

Email privacy@surevitz.co.uk and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd like the chance to put things right first, so please tell us.

Changes

If we change how we use your details, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change affects you, we'll email you first, and if it needs your consent, we'll ask for it.
